How to get there?
The site can’t be reached with the puclic transport, so car of lift is needed.
Driving directions From Turku, take the Turku-Helsinki highway no. 1 to the Sauvo/Kemiö road no. 181, drive past the center of Sauvo for about 3 km, turn left at the Rajalahti fork, drive approx. 1 km, turn right towards Rajalahti, drive approx. 6 km and turn left onto the Ampola and Ahtela road, drive straight for 2.5 km and the Ahtela camp center is on the right.
At the Site, you can drive to the mainhall building (the first big building you come across) and go inside the hall to visit info to register, and you will get e.g. information about your accommodation. There is space for cars to stop at the accommodation places to bring stuff and at least some parking space nearby. Pay attention to safety when driving in the area, there may be pedestrians in the traffic and the emergency routes must be kept open.

Nearest big city is Turku [Åbo] (about 50 km).
In Turku there is airport, harbor (for example Tallink Silja and Viking line) and bus&railway stations.
It is also possible to fly (to Helsinki-Vantaa) and come to the Site from Helsinki, but the distance from there is approx. 150 km.
We try to organize shared rides for those in need.
Ahtela Youth Camping Centre
The area is over 40 hectares and the buildings located around the area hold facilities for activities, accommodation, meetings, and dining, as well as washrooms and saunas. Unfortunately, the facilities are not very accessible, although there are, for example, disabled toilets, ramps, etc. in the place.
Seven different buildings offer accommodation for about 100 people. In addition, there is plenty of space for tents, if camping inspires you. Please note that the spring of Aarnimetsä may be either spring-like or a little more snowy.
The event has two central locations – the main hall and the tournament field – which are not located right next to each other, nor in the immediate vicinity of all accommodations.
Tentatively, on arrival on Friday, information, evening snack and evening program will take place in the main hall.
The tournament field is planned to be located next to the log cabins and the nearby maintenance building “Kutteri”.
Saturday morning’s breakfast and possibly lunch and of course the post-tournament sauna could be taken care of in Kutteri, which would even reduce the need to travel back through the area.
The post-tournament program is again planned in the main hall and near it.
Accommodation facilities
– The log cabins have accommodation for 10-12 people/cabin (4 cabins). Accommodation is in bunk beds, in the upper loft and in a soffa bed. The cabin has a table and benches and a refrigerator, but no running water, toilet or washing facilities.
Nearby is a small toilet/shower building and a larger maintenance building “Kutteri”. The Kutteri also has toilets, a sauna and a shower.
– “Ankkuri“ is a bigger cabin near the main hall. Accommodation for about 16 people in the loft (2 level). In the “Ankkuri” there is table and benches, showers, sauna, toilets and a kitchen. Accommodation and living space are also one space in “Ankkuri”.
-If needed, “Kompassi” is also available as accommodation, accommodation for about 30 people in bunk beds in two accommodation rooms. “Kompassi” has a separate kitchen, “lounge”, sauna, showers and toilet. Kompassi is located a little further away from both the main hall and the tournament field / Kutteri & log cabins.
– There are also separate accommodation facilities for high-ranking Crown people and the event’s team. Crown’s facilities also have showers, toilets and kitchen space as well space for holding various kinds of meetings.
Moving around the Site
The Site is large and there will be a lot of walking between buildings and activities during the event. It is good to bring good weather-appropriate footwear (authenticity can be compromised…) and a cape or other outerwear. Aarnimetsä’s spring can be diverse – from spring weather to sleet or snow – even at the beginning of April.
There is plenty of parking space for cars in the area. It is possible to drive to near the accommodation facilities and, if needed, you can also move around the area / between parking lots during the event.
However, safety (and also the atmosphere of the event) must be strictly observed during the event.
