Midwinter Feast

This time we are having a great hobbu creature riding tournament in a fictional inn, or rather, fictional nobles have turned their hall into an inn… Come see how they have succeeded, what kind of people come to the inn from near and far and what kind of small side tasks you can find on the inn’s notice board! Of course, the program also includes singing, dancing, crafts, a sauna, food and other relevant things. And there are also crown heads present!

Food: all food is lactose-free and all allergies & restrictions notified in advance will be taken into account. The event meals do not contain nuts or fish.

Friday
18:00 Site opens, Welcome tea/coffee etc.
+ stories, dancing, singing, games, crafts
20:00- Evening snack (rice pies, pancakes etc.)
21:00- Court
Mixed Sauna

Saturday
All day: small adventures, games, crafts…
8:30-10:00 Breakfast (porridge, bread & spreads, eggs, juice, etc.)
9:30-10:30 Stories
10:00- hobby creature workshop(make your own hobby-ride!)
10:00-11:45 Archery
10:00-13:00 Crafts and fitting assistance
10:30-12:00 Dancing, Drive the cold winter away, etc. are taught.
– 11:30-12:45 Archery sauna
12:00-12:45 Tournament of Love and Death – Fencing part (see below)
12:00-13:00 Sing together Kalevalasongs etc.
– 12:45-13:30 Combatant’s folk sauna
13:00-14:00 Lunch (cheese pasta, meatballs, sauce, salad, bread)
14:30-15:30 Hobby creature riding competition (see below)
15:30-16:15 Tournament of Love and Death – rattan part (see below)
15:30-16:30 Dancing, New Almaine, Lauro, Horsesbrandle, Amoroso, HydePark are taught. Dances taught as Unikankare versions, general instructions in finnish in Tanssiwiki.

The Tourney of Love and Death at Midwinter.
Weather permitting fencing in the morning and armoured combat in the afternoon.
In both forms first an individual tourney where all fighters will have an opportunity to meet everyone else. At least twice.
That will be followed by a sharp melee combat between teams of Love and Death for domination of the center of the tourney Field as traditional at Midwinter feasts of Old.

Hobby steed riding competition
Everyone is welcome to join the hunting-track-style tournament on your own or borrowed steed!
(Steed does not have to be horse, all stick-creatures are welcome.)
